Cashrewards Brand Campaign



In 2021 online cashback platform Cashrewards was neck and neck with Shopback, their rival for the lead position in-market. At that point the brand was desperately searching for a personality and TOV. I was brought in by the Head of Brand to reimagine the brand and to create left field work that cut through. Working with a Senior AD and a talented in-house team we created a world we named ‘Yaytopia’. Its purpose was to connect cashback moments with joy at every single touchpoint. Within two years we doubled the membership from 1M to 2M.

With the cashback sector being in its infancy many Australians still didn’t know what cashback was or how it worked. I wanted to make sure our brand campaign dramatised the link between making online purchases and the ecstatically surreal moment of receiving free money. Members were taken out of their ordinary world and transported to cashback Yaytopia, just through making simple online purchases.
